Joint Force Analysis Simulation
Joint Force Analysis Simulation (JFAS), developed by Teledyne Brown Engineering, is a division level and below, medium resolution, aggregated combat model designed to analyze forces, weapon performance, and command and control.
Combat action is modeled with an emphasis on scenario composition, terrain utilization, and tactics. Command and control is represented by using a flexible rule-set design for combat situation criteria. Maneuver and fire support are initiated by response to specific criteria of time, terrain, location, and force behavior.
The algorithms used are mathematically rigorous, providing repeatable results. JFAS is designed to work alongside other desktop tools. The quantitative output is in HTML format for use with any browser and is easily imported into spreadsheets. The map view is a commercial product and is included. The data used is standard DTED terrain data formats and standardized weapon performance data.
JFAS utilizes object-oriented design architecture programmed entirely in C++. This design has resulted in drastically reduced turnaround time for modeling analysts and analysis efforts. There is extensive on-line help with training tutorials, which serve as the documentation.
JFAS is commercially available from Teledyne Brown and the development team is ready to provide enhancements as required. Additionally, our experienced analysts are available to support your analytical requirements.
