Harry A. Chaffee was named Vice President of Contracts in January 2009. He is an expert in contract administration and has more than 21 years of experience in the field.
Prior to his new position, Chaffee served as Director of Contracts at Teledyne Brown for 10 years, responsible for the management of both contract administration and subcontract administration activities. In his new position as vice president, he is responsible for all contractual matters in the Engineered Systems and Energy and Power Systems Segments. In addition, Chaffee is the Company’s Export Administrator and serves as the Ethics Officer for the Company’s Ethics Program.
Before joining Teledyne in 1992, Chaffee was a Senior Contracts Administrator for Unisys Corporation, responsible for administering fixed price and cost reimbursement contracts for software development efforts, manufacturing of training systems, and depot support of ship fire control systems. Prior to this, he worked as an instructor of composition for the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Florida State University, and Calhoun Community College.
Chaffee holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Ph.D. in English from Florida State University, and an M.A. in English and B.A. in English/Psychology from The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
He is a Fellow of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and has served as National Director, President, President-elect, National Co-Director, and Education Chairperson for the Huntsville chapter. In the latter position, Chaffee organized several professional workshops and spoke on various topics as an NCMA representative. He is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager and has received the President’s Award from the NCMA Huntsville chapter.
