Degraded Visual Environments System

TBE is currently developing a radar system that will help helicopter pilots have visual conformation of landing areas in Degraded Visual Environments (i.e., brown-out, white-out, heavy rain, thick smoke, fog). Utilizing technology developed by Teledyne Defense Australia, our Multiple-Input/Multiple-Output (MIMO) radar is unique in its capability to provide a virtual two-dimensional aperture without having the added cost, power, and weight penalties required to fully populate a complete phased array. Our unique processing capabilities and image fusion of MIMO radar imagery with both visual and infrared images allow for a real-time display with three-dimensional-like graphics.
