Teledyne Brown Name DeFatta Vice President of New Manufactured Products Group

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (November 25, 2008) — Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. (TBE) announced today that Michael R. DeFatta has been promoted to Vice President of the company’s newly-formed Manufactured Products group.
In this role, DeFatta is responsible for the strategic direction, growth and operations of Teledyne Brown’s two manufacturing facilities. He will oversee Teledyne Brown’s nuclear manufacturing plant in Limestone County which is currently producing gas centrifuge service modules for USEC, Inc. The service modules will be used in USEC’s new gas centrifuge uranium enrichment plant which will supply fuel for commercial nuclear power plants. DeFatta is also responsible for operations at Teledyne Brown’s manufacturing plant in Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park which is currently manufacturing hardware for the aerospace, defense, nuclear and commercial industries. The Manufactured Products group also provides design, development, and test of products in these industries.

DeFatta, who has 27 years of experience in the space and defense industries, joined Teledyne Brown in 2002. He has served as manager of such programs as the Unmanned Aircraft Systems, the Multipurpose Troop Transport Carrier System (MTTCS), PAC-3 Missile Round Trainers, and Aviation Ground Support Equipment. DeFatta has a Bachelor of mechanical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and holds an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology.
