Relay for Life Fundraisers Successful

Fundraisers for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life were held recently at TBE, with donations from a bake sale and online auction tallying $1,611 for cancer research.  In addition, individuals at TBE donated $4,987 and TSI employees donated $1,550 to the event, bringing the total donated to the American Cancer Society to $8,148.

As in the past several years, TBE employee Carolyn Bryant spearheaded the fundraising at the Company for the Relay for Life.

A bake sale, coordinated by Dorothy Hunkapiller and Ruthie Jeans, raised $536.  Also assisting with sales and baking for the event were Dianna O’Dell and Courtney Zarrilli.  Numerous other employees donated items for the sale as well, which was held during lunchtime in the Blue Bat Café.

An online auction was also held, where employees and other individuals donated items that employees bid on and were awarded to the highest bidder.  Bryant was assisted in this effort by Jonathan Cotter, who set up the silent auction site, and John Eberhart, who took photos of the items that were posted for sale.

“I want to thank everyone for helping me make the fundraising efforts at TBE and TSI so successful,” said Bryant.  “It’s good to know that the money will go toward helping find a cure for cancer.”
