About the Procurement Department

The Procurement Department of Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE) is certified by the Defense Logistics Agency and various commercial and nuclear customers. The mission of our department is to provide the best possible value to our customers while trying to exceed the commitment of TBE to utilize small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned, service-disabled, and HUB-zoned certified businesses. We acquire a wide range of mechanical, electrical, fabricated metals, raw materials, and chemical items, as well as specialized services to support our government and commercial contracts in the space, defense, environmental, and information industries.

It is a policy of TBE that Procurement personnel will be the primary points of contact between the Company and suppliers or potential suppliers. This policy is not intended to impede contacts between non-procurement personnel and suppliers that are in the course of performing work. Any and all pricing discussions, however, shall be with Procurement only.

Procurement personnel are the primary agents authorized to request proposals/quotations from, negotiate with, and make purchase commitments to suppliers. Informal oral communications between TBE engineers, quality assurance specialists, and other technical personnel are permitted on strictly technical matters.

It is the policy of TBE to deal fairly and honestly with suppliers and customers. TBE personnel will not accept, or permit acceptance by members of their family, of any favor, gratuity, or entertainment directly or indirectly from any person, firm, corporation, or other entity that has engaged, is engaged, or is endeavoring to engage in procurement activities or business transactions of any kind with the Company.

It is the policy of TBE to conduct procurement activities on a competitive basis and to establish the responsibility for purchasing for their respective areas with the Manager of Procurement, the Director of Contract Administration, and the designated head of Procurement, if any, for any other TBE operations.

These responsible Procurement personnel have the authority to conduct and conclude negotiations and to commit TBE in contractual obligations affecting purchases and subcontracts up to the limitation established by the Company's proposal, contract, and purchasing signature authority policy. Purchasing/Buyers are the only designated agents in the Company.

We are looking forward to a successful business relationship with you, our supplier and customer.
