National Missile Defense Engineering
Ballistic missile defense has been studied and developed as ballistic missiles themselves came into being. Teledyne Brown Engineering has played important roles in most BMD developments since the 1960s.
- Our experience includes the Safeguard, LoAD/Sentry, and Site Defense
programs, as well as ground-based experiments of the 80's and 90's, and continues in the current Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) under development by the Missile Defense Agency.
- The BMDS program has the mission to protect the United States from
limited ballistic missile attack. The BMDS architecture consists of multi-tier (boost, midcourse, and terminal) capabilities, with each tier composed of sensors, weapons, and BM/C3 elements.
- We have world-class expertise in BMD areas of system engineering,
missiles, optical and radar systems, BM/C3 systems, models and simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testbeds, lethality assessment, test and evaluation, and deployment and sustainment plannng.
Teledyne Brown's dedicated engineers and scientists have been recognized by government and industry for contributing to program successes with a very significant number of innovative solutions. We can provide this expertise under prime and subcontract efforts in all types of BMD activities.
