Range Instrumentation
Teledyne Brown Engineering has extensive experience in all aspects of military range instrumentation.
Our products and services have been successfully used at ranges spanning the globe -- from the Reagan Test Site on Meck Island to the Wallops Island Flight Facility -- as well as mobile range instrumentation systems such as Cobra Judy, Cobra Ball, and the Airborne Surveillance Testbed.
- We defined, designed, procured, installed, and placed into initial
operation the Meck Island Test Site Control Room in seven months. With 16 control consoles, this facility supports time-critical test decisions and post-mission "quick-look" assessments for missile testing in the South Pacific.
- For an international customer, we developed a "turn-key" facility
used to collect, process, record, and display in real time the telemetry from test aircraft in flight. It included a data collection van, microwave relay station, weather station, and data reduction station, all using our software and commercial off-the-shelf hardware.
- We have extensive experience in working with foreign-developed
threat systems, and use this expertise in providing engineering solutions to customers in support of electronic warfare / air combat maneuvering instrumentation ranges.
From turn-key facilities to engineering studies, Teledyne Brown has the capabilities to assist in all elements of modern range instrumentation.
