Space-Based Reconnaissance Models

Space-based reconnaissance assets are vital for obtaining critical battlefield information for the warfighter. For this reason, it is imperative that comprehensive analysis of system capabilities and limitations is constantly being conducted.

Teledyne Brown Engineering has extensive experience in modeling/simulation of space-based systems. For example, our Advanced Sub-System Element and System Simulation (ASESS) is used for constellation modeling of satellites. ASESS has the capability to model sensor characteristics, individual satellites, and user-specified options such as number of rings and satellites per ring, inclination angle, and the phase-angle between rings. Individual satellite characteristics such as up-link and down-link communication, collection time, dwell time, and steering constraints are also modeled.
