Working Set Reduction Dialog
The power of the Working Set is the secret to managing large requirement
databases in XTie-RT.
Working Sets are user-defined subsets of the requirements database. The
user defines a Working Set by using the above dialog to query the database
for a particular subset.
The example in the screen above is querying for all requirements "With
No Children."
After a Working Set has been defined, the Requirements Viewer can be
set to view only those requirements within the Working Set. Additionally,
reports can be generated which contain only the Working Set or this subset
can be exported to another tool.
Another powerful feature of the Working Set allows the user to assign
an Attribute Value to all requirements in a Working Set.
The Working Set query is menu driven. The following types of queries
are available:
- Document - Find only the requirements in the specified documents.
- Text - Find only those requirements that contain user-specified
words or phrases. Or find those requirements or objects that have no text.
- SVA - Find those requirements that contain one or more attribute
value of type Single Value Attribute. Or find those requirements that do
not contain certain values.
- MVA - Find those requirements that contain one or more attribute
value of type Multi-Value Attribute. Or find those requirements that do
not contain certain values.
- TVA - Find only those requirements whose Text Value Attributes
contain user-specified words or phrases. Or find those requirements or
objects that have no text in a Text Value Attribute.
- Parents - Find requirements that have Parent Links or those
without.
- Children - Find requirements that have Children Links or those
without.
- Peers - Find requirements that have Peer Links or those without.
