Control Center Operation
Teledyne Brown Engineering has unsurpassed experience and expertise in
control center operation for manned space-science missions. We have provided 50,000+ hours of science operations to NASA and its customers.
Our activities include monitoring progress of experiments, managing the
capture and downlink of experiment data, assisting astronauts and science
teams, ground-commanding onboard systems, and replanning the mission
timeline to ensure maximum use of onboard resources.
- During essentially all of the Space Shuttle science missions, engineers and science specialists from Teledyne Brown staffed the MSFC payload operations control center 24 hours a day.
- For the evolving International Space Station (ISS), we have the responsibility for defining the activities of the payload operations integration center -- the central support location for all science and engineering customers.
- We are also defining overall ISS operations engineering and integration for the development and maintenance of requirements, plans, schedules, and resource analysis for coordination payload operations integration.
Teledyne Brown is also updating the space station payload operations concept and integration process definitions, performing analyses to integrate operational requirements on payload operating systems, and supporting planning and interface definition.
