Teledyne Brown Cargo Mission Contract Extended

​HUNTSVILLE, AL - October 21, 2009 - Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. (TBE) today announced that the company has received a one year extension of its engineering and manufacturing contract with Lockheed Martin Space Operations in support of the NASA International Space Station (ISS) Cargo Mission Contract. The contract extension has a potential value of up to $6.9M, bringing the total contract value to approximately $28.2M.

The contract extension will allow Teledyne Brown to continue providing its highly specialized cargo mission support services to the ISS until the Shuttle's retirement.

Under this contract, Teledyne Brown will continue performing pressurized and unpressurized cargo/carrier integration in support of launch integration, ground processing, on-orbit operations analysis, and cargo return to Lockheed Martin. These tasks include management, hardware manufacturing, planning, mission support, and analytical integration. The company also manufactures Flight Support Equipment to secure ISS Orbital Replacement Units to cargo carriers launched in the Space Shuttle Payload bay.

Teledyne Brown, a recognized expert in space hardware design and development as well as analytical integration, has been integrating pressurized and unpressurized cargo items for the Space Station since this contract was awarded in January 2004.
