Teledyne Brown Engineering Announces its Third Expansion in Three Years

7/8/2020

HUNTSVILLE, AL - July 8, 2020 - Teledyne Brown Engineering announces plans to once again expand their Huntsville, AL manufacturing and assembly facilities. The expansion is required to provide additional capacity and capabilities for recent awards and anticipated business growth.

The 55,000 square foot development consists of a 15,000 square foot expansion of an existing high bay building and a new standalone, 40,000 square foot high bay facility. Each addition will be fully equipped, including a multimillion-dollar large capacity gantry machine, which will greatly enhance the company’s advanced manufacturing and fabrication capabilities.

Teledyne Brown Engineering’s Huntsville campus currently has 200,000 square feet of manufacturing space where it performs programs for the Department of Defense, Department of Energy and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). With this expansion, the company’s workforce is expected to increase by up to 100 employees in the next two years.

“The investments we are making are a strong indicator of our consistent and continued growth”, stated Jan Hess, President of Teledyne Brown Engineering. “We are fortunate that our large campus allows for expansion and are thrilled that these enhancements will enable us to deliver increased program capability and capacity to our customers.”

In 2018 the company built a new high bay facility adding 25,000 square feet of manufacturing space to the Huntsville Campus. The additional buildings will be the third expansion in three years. Teledyne Brown Engineering has an extensive list of quality certifications that extend to all its manufacturing facilities. In addition to possessing AS9100D/ISO9001:2015, Nadcap, ASME Section III (Nuclear) and Section VIII Quality Certifications, the company can perform up to Level III nondestructive testing (NDT). Teledyne Brown Engineering’s manufacturing’s capabilities combined with advanced welding abilities for a variety of exotic alloys allows them to provide unique services and solutions for its growing, complex programs.
