Teledyne Brown Engineering Awarded $39m Contract for Combat Submersible Vehicles

3/15/2021

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - March 15, 2021 - Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) announced that its subsidiary, Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE) in Huntsville, Ala., was awarded a $39M contract for continued production of MK11 Shallow Water Combat Submersibles (SWCS). Funding for this contract will be obligated as Foreign Military Sales, though the country name will be withheld per international agreement.

The SWCS is a manned combat submersible vehicle designed to insert and extract Special Operations Forces (SOF) in high threat areas. Teledyne Brown Engineering has successfully designed, and now manufactures, and tests the SWCS for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The success of the program's Engineering Development Model Phase led USSOCOM to exercise the options for Teledyne Brown Engineering to produce and deliver additional MK11 SWCS Production Systems. This contract will further add to the units in production and delivered for military use.

"The SWCS is a unique and complex system, and our team has performed remarkably to provide a safe and efficient vehicle for our Special Operations Forces," stated Jan Hess, President of Teledyne Brown Engineering. "We are proud to continue to support our warfighters".

Work for this contract is expected to be complete by September 2024 and will be performed at the company's main facility in Huntsville, Ala.
