5/1/2019

HUNTSVILLE, AL - May 1, 2019 - The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) has announced that Teledyne Brown Engineering along with the Department of State, Department of Defense, Department of Energy and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) are recipients of the 2019 Interagency Partnership Award.

The unique team was recognized for their development and commercialization of the Xenon International system.   Xenon International is a fully automated unattended system designed to collect, separate, purify, quantify, and perform nuclear counting on radioxenon isotopes, as well as transmit data using two-way communications. Xenon International is designed to stringent national and international requirements that make it a high performance next-generation-system for use in nuclear explosion monitoring networks such as the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty International Monitoring System.  Xenon International is a field-based system that continuously monitors for radioxenon gases released from an underground nuclear explosion.

“Our team has worked diligently on this program to provide a fully automated, high performance next-generation-system for the detection of underground nuclear explosions,” stated Jan Hess, President of Teledyne Brown Engineering.  “We are proud to have contributed to this system which will allow users of this system to detect an incident in a timely manner.”
