9/17/2015

HUNTSVILLE, AL - September 17, 2015 - On September 17, 2015 Teledyne Brown Engineering was awarded the Large Prime Contractor of the Year Award for the exemplary support of the NASA Small Business Subcontracting Programs under the Mission Operations & Integration (MO&I) Contract with NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and for supporting NASA's mission.

The award was presented during the 2015 Industry & Advocates Awards ceremony, part of the annual Marshall Small Business Alliance meeting at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville.

For the past 15 years, Teledyne Brown has served as a contractor for NASA’s Payload Operations Integration Function, providing over 131,400 continuous hours of real-time science operations support to NASA and the International Space Station community.

Additionally, the company was selected as recipient of the Mentor Protégé Agreement of the Year Award along with Martin Federal Consulting LLC of Huntsville, a Small Business Administration (SBA) certified 8(a)/SDB and certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned small business, that serves as a subcontractor to Teledyne Brown on the Mission Operations and Integration Contract.   Areas of focus during this agreement included Stowage Operations, Human Factors Personnel, Training Support Systems and Technical Writing / Development.

The NASA Mentor-Protégé Program encourages NASA prime contractors to enter into agreements with eligible protégés. The agreements are expected to enhance a protégé’s capability to successfully perform work on NASA contracts and subcontracts and eventually grow their capacity to compete for larger, more complex contract awards.

Teledyne Brown was chosen by a panel of NASA business procurement officials that evaluate each nominee’s cost-conscious business practices, innovative processes and adoption of new technologies, as well as their contribution to NASA’s mission and the agency’s Small Business Program. As a center-level award recipient, Teledyne Brown is an eligible candidate for the Agency Large Business Prime Contractor of the Year to be announced at a later date by the NASA Office of Small Business Programs.
