Huntsville, AL - August 12, 2020 - Teledyne Brown Engineering has successfully launched a Zombie target missile for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command Technical Center's Test Execution Support Division at Redstone Arsenal. nder the Tactical Range Air Defense Missile (TACRAM) task order, Teledyne Brown Engineering and its team designs and builds affordable, flexible target missiles used for test and evaluation of advanced missile defense systems.
Teledyne Brown Engineering developed the Zombie "Pathfinder" single-stage target missile using U.S. Government-supplied rocket motors that have been decommissioned. The deactivated rocket motors provide propulsion to the missile launched on June 25, 2020, from White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.

Army and Missile Defense programs have an increased interest in reducing the cost of test and evaluation requirements. Zombie targets are an affordable solution that provide threat-representative capabilities necessary to test the effectiveness of missile defense assets. This effort is planned to continue through April 2025.
