HUNTSVILLE, AL. - October 22, 2018– Teledyne Brown Engineering was awarded a follow-on contract to maintain and enhance their suite of medical planning tools, including the Joint Medical Planning Tool (JMPT) and the Medical Planners’ Toolkit (MPTk) with the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) under the Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC) contract vehicle. The contract has a potential value of $9.8 million over 2 years.

As the premier deployment health research center for the Department of Defense, NHRC's cutting-edge research and development is used to optimize the operational health and readiness of the nation's armed forces. Teledyne Brown Engineering designed JMPT 17 years ago and has since provided development and maintenance of the tool. The Modeling and Simulation Department at NHRC uses JMPT and MPTk for medical research, risk assessment and estimating medical resource requirements. JMPT models patient flow from injury through treatment. MPTK provides medical support planning across the range of military operations from combat operations to humanitarian assistance.
