12/17/2013

HUNTSVILLE, AL - December 17, 2013 - Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. today presented Arthur J. Steinmetz with the title of Engineering Fellow, the highest honor to be conferred by the company. The program, now in its 10th year, recognizes past or current employees who have made significant lifetime contributions in the fields of science and engineering.

During his 32 year career, Steinmetz earned a reputation for excellence and innovation as a systems engineer and project manager. His outstanding technical and engineering skills directly led to the success of such programs as the Binary Destruction Facility, Munition Management Device, Edgewood Chemical Biological Center Engineering Services, Joint Material Decontamination System, 60K Aircraft Cargo Transporter Loader and Space Shuttle and Spacelab.

"Art is a most deserving recipient of this award," said Rex D. Geveden, President, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. "He was an expert at successful program execution and understood systems engineering and integration at a level few ever reach. Art left an extraordinary legacy at our company." Steinmetz passed away in 2009, just three months after retiring from Teledyne Brown. The Fellows designation was presented recently during a company awards ceremony.
