Teledyne Brown Reaches Milestone on NASA's Microgravity Glovebox

9/29/2011

HUNTSVILLE, AL - September 29, 2011 - Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. today announced that the company reached a 10,000 hour milestone for operations support of NASA's Microgravity Science Glovebox (MSG), a unique research facility onboard the International Space Station (ISS) used for science and technology investigations.

The MSG was delivered to the ISS in June 2002 by Space Shuttle Endeavour and installed in the U.S. Destiny Laboratory, the primary research laboratory for U.S. payloads. Teledyne Brown supported the development and integration of the facility itself and, in addition to operations support, continues to provide payload integration, testing, and engineering analyses for the MSG project.

"The ISS is an extraordinarily capable science platform, and we are very proud to provide the payload integration and operations functions for NASA," said Rex Geveden, President, Teledyne Brown Engineering. "This milestone is emblematic of our capabilities which begin with systems design and extend through manufacturing and operations of complex engineered systems."

Teledyne Brown has more than three decades of experience supporting NASA's orbiting laboratory efforts. The company's current support to the ISS Program spans the entire payload operations and integration process, from concept development to hardware fabrication, software development, and on-orbit science operations.
