Teledyne Brown Selects John Horack to Lead Space Growth

HUNTSVILLE, AL -​ June 20, 2012 - Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. today announced that John M. Horack, PhD, a highly-accomplished veteran of the aerospace industry, has been appointed Vice President of its Space Systems group with responsibility for expanding the company's space business.

Dr. Horack was selected for the position based on his achievements in private industry, leadership at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) and experience in academic research. In addition, Dr. Horack has gained recognition for his ability to strategically impact an organization.

Before joining Teledyne Brown, Dr. Horack served as Vice President of Research for the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he had oversight of the university's 14 research centers and laboratories. While at MSFC, Dr. Horack held the position of Director of the Science and Mission Systems Office with responsibility for management of 200 civil service and contract employees. In 2000, he established Mobular Technologies, Inc., a technology company that publishes and distributes information for financial services and ecommerce markets.

Dr. Horack received an M.A. and Ph.D. in physics from UAHuntsville and a B.A. in physics and astronomy from Northwestern University. He has authored several dozen papers in the areas of Astrophysics and Space Science and is an in-demand speaker at industry and academic events.
