For nearly three decades, Teledyne Brown Engineering has been in the front line of nuclear manufacturing. We have continued to maintain our nuclear certifications, update our manufacturing facilities, and hire skilled specialists to produce nuclear components. As a new era in nuclear power emerges, our company can meet the nuclear manufacturing needs of this industry today.

We are a “one-stop” provider of engineered and fabricated products and services, which translates to lower program cost and risk. Our focus on cost, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction ensures that our customers return to TBE for all their nuclear component needs.

Teledyne Brown is the only manufacturing company in Alabama to hold the five Certificates of Authorization issued by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME): the N, NPT, U, UM, and NS. These stamps sanction TBE to design and manufacture nuclear vessels, piping systems, tanks, storage systems, core support structures, assemblies, and pressure vessels. To receive and maintain these Stamp Certifications, we must meet and maintain rigorous manufacturing standards and successfully complete an extensive on-site audit and demonstration by ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code representatives every 3 years.

Hardware Fabrication
As an example of our work, Teledyne Brown fabricated Fuel Square Bundle Tubes for the Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC). The Experimental Boiling Water Reactor (EBWR) Fuel Square Bundle Tubes were fabricated during the period of September 2002 to April 2003 and shipped to WSRC for the storage of nuclear fuel. WSRC used this hardware for experimental development purposes. The Bundle Tubes were fabricated of 6061 aluminum tube using welding procedures and welders qualified to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section IX.
