As a subcontractor under TFAB, working for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Teledyne Brown Engineering operated as System Engineer and manufacturer to re-design, manufacture, and deliver the Missile Round Trainer (MTR) to be used for Army Patriot Advanced Capability training. This redesign of the same form of fit of the then existing trainer while maintaining the required fidelity to the tactical canister while reducing the complexity of the system. Teledyne’s Engineering team developed a redesign that was cost effective for manufacturing, then Manufacturing demonstrated they effectual changes by producing and deliver the hardware on schedule and within budget. As part of this program Teledyne has delivered 153 MRTs.
The manufacturing process included machining, welding, painting and finishing operations, large component assembly and verification and validation. Teledyne’s efforts also included first article testing. ​
