For generations, Teledyne Brown Engineering has delivered innovative engineering, integration, manufacturing, and operations solutions in support of national security, space exploration, energy, defense, and commercial markets. Our legacy is built on a commitment to solving complex technical challenges and partnering with customers throughout the full lifecycle of their most critical programs.

Founded on July 1, 1953, as Alabama Engineering and Tool Company, the organization was established to support Wernher von Braun and his team as they developed the Redstone Rocket in Huntsville, Alabama. The company became Brown Engineering Company in 1956 and played a key role in shaping Huntsville's emergence as a center for innovation and technology. Company leadership also helped establish Cummings Research Park, now one of the nation's premier research and technology parks and home to Teledyne Brown Engineering today.

Following its acquisition by Teledyne Incorporated, the company became Teledyne Brown Engineering. Through subsequent corporate transitions, including Teledyne's merger with Allegheny Ludlum and the formation of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated in 1999, Teledyne Brown Engineering continued to expand its technical capabilities and customer base. In 2010, the company became a foundational part of Teledyne Technologies' Engineered Systems Segment.

Throughout its history, Teledyne Brown Engineering has supported many of the nation's most significant space initiatives. From the early Jupiter and Saturn rocket programs to the Space Shuttle, International Space Station (ISS), and Artemis-era exploration efforts, the company has contributed engineering expertise, mission operations, hardware development, and integration services that have helped advance human spaceflight and scientific discovery. Teledyne Brown also supports NASA's payload operations integration activities and microgravity research initiatives while expanding commercial space capabilities through innovative platforms and mission solutions.

In the defense sector, the company has been a longstanding contributor to U.S. missile defense and national security programs. Its expertise spans decades of support across strategic and ballistic missile defense initiatives, advanced modeling and simulation, systems engineering, and mission-critical technology development.

Teledyne Brown Engineering has also established a strong presence in the energy sector, supporting commercial nuclear power, research facilities, and the U.S. Department of Energy with specialized engineering, radiological analysis, nuclear manufacturing, and complex hardware solutions. The company's rigorous quality standards and certifications have enabled it to serve the nuclear industry for decades.

Building on its expertise in challenging and highly regulated environments, Teledyne Brown Engineering has developed a diverse portfolio of marine and maritime solutions supporting both commercial and government customers. From naval systems and mine countermeasure technologies to specialized hardware for offshore energy applications, the company continues to deliver reliable solutions for demanding operational environments.

Today, Teledyne Brown Engineering combines a heritage of technical excellence with forward-looking innovation. Through advanced systems engineering, integration, mission operations, manufacturing, and technology development, the company continues to help customers achieve their most ambitious goals on Earth, in space, and beyond.
