Teledyne Engineered Systems Segment
As the Associate Vice President of Quality Systems, John Newton manages quality management systems that enable Teledyne Brown Engineering to meet the quality assurance needs of its diverse customer base. Specifically, Newton is responsible for overseeing Teledyne Brown’s third-party certified quality systems for the aerospace and defense industry (AS9100/ISO 9001), nuclear components (ASME Sect. III), pressure vessels (ASME Sect. VIII), software modeling and simulation (CMMI Level 3), U.S. Navy Deep Submergence Systems, and two Nadcap certifications for welding and nondestructive testing. Newton also oversees Teledyne Brown’s NQA-1 nuclear quality assurance program. His role extends across the Teledyne Engineered Systems segment, supporting quality management systems for Teledyne Advanced Electronic Solutions and Teledyne Energy Systems, Inc.—both AS9100-certified organizations.
John has over 40 years of professional experience in environmental and quality compliance programs. Since joining Teledyne Brown in 2003, he has taken on roles of increasing responsibility within the quality organization for multiple Department of Defense programs, including chemical and biological weapons demilitarization, Navy Deep Submergence Systems, and various nuclear programs. Throughout his tenure, he has remained focused on delivering high-quality products and driving continuous process improvement. He was named Director of Quality Management Systems in 2016 and Associate Vice President of Quality Systems in 2025.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Gettysburg College and a Master of Science degree in Geo/Environmental Science from Shippensburg University.
