​Today we talk with a company that has been in Huntsville for 65 years - Teledyne Brown Engineering, the first high technology firm to assist Wernher von Braun and his team in the completion of the Redstone Rocket. HR Recruiter Rachel Garrett shares more about who they are and what they look for in employees.

1. Could you tell us a little about your company? 

Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. is an industry leader in engineered systems and advanced manufacturing. The Company provides full-spectrum systems engineering, integration, manufacturing, and lifecycle sustainment solutions to the marine, aviation, aerospace, defense, energy and environment markets. Teledyne Brown has expertise in systems integration, technology development, hardware design, prototype development, system test and evaluation, advanced manufacturing, performance-based logistics solutions, and operations and maintenance.

2. What kinds of daily responsibilities do you have? 

My morning starts out with screening the applicants in our ATS (Applicant Tracking System). I search for potential candidates through LinkedIn, Monster, Indeed and ZipRecruiter. I assist with job fairs at multiple college campuses as well as Security Clearance expos with the government. Throughout the day, I am scheduling interviews and working with managers to create offers for potential employees.

3. What is your work atmosphere like? 

Our Employees are always there for each other professionally and personally.
