Teledyne Brown Engineering Completes 3rd Expansion Supporting Growth in Advanced Manufacturing

9/13/2021

Huntsville, AL, September 13, 2021 -- Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE) held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony last week to celebrate the latest addition to its Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AMCE) at its Huntsville, Alabama campus. This is the third in a series of expansions to have occurred in the past 3 years to support its growth.

The Large-Scale, High Bay, Assembly and Integration Facility totals 40,000 square feet, supporting work for TBE's Department of Defense, NASA, and Department of Energy customers. The facility will be utilized for the assembly and integration phases of large-scale equipment.

In 2018, the company built a high bay facility adding 25,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space. The company then expanded that facility by an additional 15,000 square feet to meet increasing demand. With these expansions and repurposing of other facilities on its campus, Teledyne Brown Engineering's advanced manufacturing footprint in Huntsville, Alabama has approximately doubled since 2018 to well over 300,000 square feet.

“The work performed in this new facility will provide systems for our Nation's defense and technical advancement," stated Jan Hess, President of Teledyne Brown Engineering. “We are proud to be able to provide the high-quality standards required for these programs. The company will continue to invest in assets that support our growth, as well as our community and country."

In attendance at the Ribbon Cutting were Congressman Mo Brooks, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, Madison Mayor Paul Finley, multiple Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce Board Members, and numerous local industry representatives.

Teledyne Brown Engineering performs work for the Department of Defense, Department of Energy and NASA. With this expansion, the company's workforce is expected to increase by over 100 employees.

Teledyne Brown Engineering's AMCE has an extensive list of quality certifications. In addition to possessing AS9100D/ISO9001:2015, Nadcap, ASME Section III (Nuclear) and Section VIII  certifications, the company can perform up to Level III nondestructive testing. Teledyne Brown Engineering's advanced manufacturing capabilities, including advanced welding for a variety of exotic alloys, allow them to provide unique services and solutions for their customers.
